The Waitrose White Burgundy is made from Chardonnay grapes from 40-year-old vines that grow around the village of Lugny. Waitrose own-label wines have been developed to help you choose wine with confidence. Our commitment to offering value-for-money means each bottle, no matter how much it costs, has been treated with the same TLC as a vintage Champagne.

Expert reviews

"I'm a huge fan of white Burgundy, but it can tend to be on the expensive side! Our Burgundy buyer, has hunted high and low to bring you this soft, elegant and aromatic example at a really keen price. It's from the Mâcon, the southerly end of the region, meaning that it exudes sunshine and smooth, ripe flavours of apple and peach, with a light lemon character on the nose, a beautiful twist of minerality and a round, satisfying texture. Definitely one to try for mid-week dinners with chicken or salmon."

Perfect food match

Tartiflette with brie and bacon with Waitrose white Burgundy

Tartiflette with brie and bacon

This dish is traditionally made with reblochon cheese, but you can use a creamy tangy Brie as an alternative, cooked with smoked bacon and potatoes for an unusual twist. White Burgundy is an excellent match to this rich dish, cutting through the creamy cheese and fatty bacon. For a vegetarian alternative swap the bacon for mushrooms.
