    Louis Roederer

Louis Roederer inherited the estate in 1833. He established the wine's unique style, character, and taste.

In the mid-nineteenth century, Louis Roederer bought some of Champagne's grand cru vineyards, an approach that contrasted sharply with contemporary practices.

His heir, Louis Roederer II was equally particular and conscientious about his approach to the production of champagne, as instilled by his adoptive father.

In the 1870s, Louis Roederer began to export its wines to the USA, and even to Tsar Alexander II of Russia. In 1876, the most prestigious of all Louis Roederer's champagnes was created and named Cristal.

Over the next 135 years Louis Roederer stayed an independent family run champagne house.

Today the house is run by Jean-Claude Rouzaud the grandson of Camille Roederer.

Tasting Note Louis Roederer Brut Premier NV

The family-owned Champagne house of Louis Roederer was established in the early 19th century.

This brut is blended predominantly from a number of their own premier and grand cru vineyards, ensuring superior quality from grape to glass.

Consistently rated by experts as one of the finest non-vintage Champagnes. Great with sushi.

Expert review

Roederer will never let you down. This wine is one of the industry's standardbearers: it's astoundingly good and every sip is a joy.

Perfect food match

Seafood medeley with honey and brioche

Meaty shellfish and salmon sauteed in butter with a touch of honey, helps bring out the sweetness in the shellfish and complements the richness of the wine.
