Tasting note

This is a powerful, fruity and well-structured red wine with fine tannins and a lasting finish. Waitrose Douro Valley red is produced in partnership with Quinta da Rosa, a family-owned estate run by the Bergqvists from their pretty riverside lodge in the heart of this famously beautiful port-producing country.

This is part of a delicious range made exclusively for Waitrose by some of the world’s best wine producers. Travelling far and wide, our wine buyers have sourced a selection of exceptionally good wines that truly represent their origin, be it flinty Sancerre or spicy Barossa Shiraz.

Expert Review

"Made by respected producer Quinta de la Rosa, this is a brilliant example of the new red wines coming from the Douro. With dense black-cherry and plum fruit and a spicy mineral core, it's crying out to be served with rare beef."
