The Paddler

Join Matt on a tantalising taste adventure...

When he has time out from his hectic winemaking schedule, Matt Thomson can be found kayaking his way around New Zealand's awe-inspiring lakes.

Undoubtedly inspired by the mountain-fresh breeze from the snow-capped peaks and the cristal clear waters he paddles through, Matt has managed to capture all the breathtaking, natural purity of New Zealand in this unique white.

Never one to shirk an adventure, Matt certainly raised a few eyebrows with his choice of Gruner Veltliner. A native grape of Austria, plantings of Gruner Veltliner are miniscule in New Zealand. But that is sure to change once word gets out of what Matt has achieved here.

This inspired creation delivers electrifying aromas of madarin, ripe nectarine and warm spice, while on the palate you can expect layers of juicy apricot, fresh pear and peach.

If you're looking for something new and exciting, there's no better choice. And if you want to flummox friends, they'll be hard pressed to guess either grape variety or country of origin in a blind tasting of this stunning white. Don't miss it.
