M.Chapoutier Petite Ruche Crozes-Hermitage

Intense red with spicy black fruit & a whiff of pepper

This intense Crozes-Hermitage has pronounced aromas of summer fruits such as blackcurrants and raspberries. It's fresh and soft on the palate with juicy summer-pudding flavours and a whiff of black pepper.

Tasting notes

This is a serious yet modern-styled Crozes-Hermitage from arguably one of the best known producers in the region. Ripe black fruits dominate the nose, which shows an intriguing complexity with subtle savoury undertones of black olive. There's deliciously pure blackberry fruit on the palate with savoury tannins and a cool peppery finish. A great example of Syrah from the Rhone.

Press Quotes

Expert reviews

"This is my favourite expression of this grape and it's delightful. If you want to try a classic Rhone Syrah and don't mind the not-quite-every-day price tag, treat yourself - you certainly won't regret having a glass of this, with its juicy blackberries and peppery finish."
