The family roots date back to 1648, to the small village of Wörrstadt in Rheinhessen.
The 8th generation, Louis Jean George Guntrum, built today's Estate building in 1923, it offers a beautiful and spacious environment to produce some of the finest wines from Germany, but also impresses with its stunning location directly adjacent to the Rhein river.
Today, the estate is owned and managed by the 11th generation, Louis Konstantin Guntrum.
Konstantin splits his time between Sales & Marketing for the winery and winemaking.
Brought up at the winery, he spent many of his younger years working in the vineyards. He has completed vintages in both Bordeaux and Burgundy and studied at UC Davis in California.
Louis Guntrum Hipping Riesling Grosses Gewaechs represents the top-end of the new Louis Guntrum classification.
These wines were born and raised in two of Germany's most famous vineyards(Nierstein and Oppenheim), which are an integral part of the Red Hill vineyards.
