Fine Burgundy Mix

Fine Burgundy Mix

Stars of this most revered region

With so many tiny domaines and vineyards, Burgundy is probably the hardest region to buy great wines from, making this case of classics truly exceptional. Highly recommended by Xenia Irwin MW.

Bin number:

1 x Joseph Drouhin Chorey-lès-Beaune
Burgundy, France

Alc vol: 13% | Line no: 758156
A delicious Chorey-lès-Beaune from master winemakers Joseph Drouhin. This quality-focused producer employs biodynamic and organic vineyard management to create a very pure and silky expression of Pinot Noir. The wine is elegant with delicate cherry and raspberry fruits and a lovely peppery finish. Perfect with a traditional Sunday roast.

1 x Henry Fessy Brouilly, Beaujolais
Burgundy, France

Alc vol: 12.5% | Line no: 710231
Brouilly is one of the most distinctive of the 10 Beaujolais villages. Being the most southerly, its wines have vibrant berry fruit favours and are extra ripe, with a mellow, spicy overlay. Fresh and smooth, it could be drunk as an apéritif but is also versatile enough to go with fsh, poultry, meat or a selection of cheeses.

1 x Joseph Drouhin Rully
Burgundy, France

Alc vol: 12.5% | Line no: 709302
An excellent Pinot Noir from the village of Rully in the south of Burgundy made by the quality-conscious house of Joseph Drouhin. This wine has delightful aromas of violet and raspberry, while the palate shows hints of wild strawberry fruit, supple tannins and a smooth fnish. Perfect with roast poultry or smoked duck terrine.

1 x Chatel-Buis Montagny
Burgundy, France

Alc vol: 13% | Line no: 523617
The nose of this Montagny expresses fresh, foral and mineral aromas. The wine is bright and lifted on the palate with a lively and refreshing finish. Its acidity and concentration come together to give good balance as well as long-lasting aromas and favours. A relatively weighty white Burgundy, this goes perfectly with chicken and pork dishes.

1 x Les Grands Crus Blancs Pouilly-Vinzelles
Burgundy, France

Alc vol: 13% | Line no: 866628
A wine that's wonderfully bright with apple and citrus fruit favours and a refreshing fnish. This white Burgundy is made from Chardonnay grapes that were produced by a group of five growers in this village near Pouilly-Fuissé. This would match well with pasta in a cream sauce with either fish or chicken, or creamy macaroni cheese.

1 x Domaine Gérard Thomas Saint-Aubin, Premier Cru
Burgundy, France

Alc vol: 13% | Line no: 099549
This barrel-fermented Chardonnay comes from one of the most esteemed producers in Saint-Aubin. Typical of the style of the appellation, this wine has rich, full aromas and supple fruit favours. The added roundness from barrel fermentation would make this a good match for poultry in cream sauces or a rich ham and leek pie.
