The vibrant aromas of lime, basil and green pepper in this stylish Sauvignon Blanc come from cooler Awatere Valley fruit, as do the lively, intense flavours of fresh gooseberries. A perfect apéritif, and a delicious partner for fish, seafood or chicken.

This excellent medium-bodied Portuguese red is made from a blend of six grape varieties. It has a characterful, rustic palate showing notes of cherry, bramble and blackcurrant fruits with a mouth-filling texture and a smoky, predominantly oaky finish. This structure and density of flavour make it a great match for red meats or rich stews.

Located to the northeast of Bordeaux, the well-regarded Saint-Émilion vineyards overlook the Dordogne river and are an officially recognised UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is a juicy Merlot-based blend from the small commune of Puisseguin, which offers great value. This wine is a perfect match for a chicken casserole.

An excellent Italian wine produced from Trebbiano grapes grown south of Lake Garda. It has a delicate floral bouquet, yet is rich with plenty of lively fresh fruit and depth of flavour.
