The grapes for this wine come from the Colchagua Valley, where ocean breezes, slow ripening and cool nights retain acidity, giving freshness to the wines. This is a mature wine from Valdepeñas that shows the characteristic strawberry fruit character of Tempranillo with a softness from extended
ageing. Grapes from 30-year-old vines were treated to a slow fermentation before seven years of maturation (including two in oak). This would be a good match for pan-fried duck.
