Medal-winning English fizz
This wine provides evidence that English vineyards, with similar climate and soil to Champagne, are capable of making excellent fizz. Ridgeview is a family business producing crisp and refreshing wine.
Ridgeview Estate is a family business that planted their first vines in 1994. Nearly 20 years on they now has a 6.5 hectare vineyard on the South Downs producing a lovely, crisp wine with biscuity notes and a very refreshing finish.
This wine was named after Christopher Merret, an Englishman who back in 1662 described not only how to make sparkling wine, but how this “gay, brisk and sparkling wine” was being drunk and enjoyed in London more than 30 years before the French first made sparkling wine and almost 70 years before the oldest champagne house was established.
One of England's finest, this is bright and lively with fresh, lemony fruit. With nice depth and precision, this is a refined wine.
This simple but luxurious salad has all the flavours of the sea from meaty mussels to sweet scallops and a touch of saltiness from the samphire. This crisp English sparkling helps to bring all these flavours together, without overpowering the delicate nature of the dish.
