Cave de Turckheim Gewurztraminer

Ginger spice & rose petal complexity

This wine has all the spicy, floral and lychee aromas typical of Gewürztraminer and a generous, soft yet dry palate. Makes a wonderful partner to spicy Chinese and Thai foods.

Tasting notes

A classic Gewürztraminer with hints of rose and white blossom aromas that give way to a delicate, dry finish. A wine like this, with spicy notes, makes a wonderful partner to spicy Asian cuisine.

Cave de Turckheim is one of the top-performing co-operatives in the region. Set up in 1955, it now produces more than 50 wines. From aromatic whites to refreshing light-bodied reds, Alsace offers a wide range of styles. In the east of France and bordering Germany, Alsace is one of the driest regions of the country, being sheltered from the west by the Vosges mountain range. The climate and a spectrum of more than 20 soil types make it a particularly good location for growing vines.

Our buyers' favourites, shared with you

"If you're looking for a white that's full of personality, you should definitely try this Gewurztraminer. With exotic flavours of lychee, rose petals and white peaches, it's a distinctive and exciting discovery. It's amazing with a Thai green chicken curry. "

Perfect food match

Thai-style steamed cod and noodles with Cave de Turckheim Gewurztraminer

Thai-style steamed cod and noodles

This quick and easy Thai dish matches amazingly with the spicy, lychee and rose blossom flavours of the Gewürztraminer. Coconut milk dominates this dish but the addition of some fresh pak choi and lime helps to cut through the rich creamy feel, as do the zesty notes in this wine, which also help bring out the Thai flavours infused into the cod.
