A Super-Tuscan from a 600-year-old winemaking dynasty

When a little-known red called Sassicaia beat the elite of Bordeaux in a Decanter organised blind-tasting in the 1970s, the 'Super-Tuscan' was born.

By combining noble French grapes with native Italian varieties, a small band of rulebreaking winemakers created an instant sensation. A red of infinite complexity and aromatic richness with layers of opulent spiced black fruit, Il Bruciato has all the hallmarks of a superior Super Tuscan. It's yours courtesy of one of the leading families in the Super Tuscan wine revolution - the ancient Antinori family (shown left).

When Giovanni di Piero Antinori was accepted into the Winemakers Guild of Florence, Richard II of England was invading Scotland and Geoffrey Chaucer was two years from beginning Canterbury Tales... the year was 1385. A remarkable 26 generations later and the Antinoris remain among Italy's elite, as this masterful blend of Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah proves. It is lovingly crafted with precious grapes from the finest growers in the Il Bolgheri appellation who are delighted to supply such a noble family.

Legendary Sassicaia now commands £130+ a bottle, but here you can savour the sheer majesty of a Super Tuscan at a fraction of the price. Do hurry - as ever, great things come in small packages. Stocks are limited.
