If you wish to savour new white wines with the crisp and refreshing character of Sauvignon Blanc then you're spoilt for choice. You can start with Sauvignon Blanc from a different region - those from the Loire are elegant, mineral-edged and subtle, the opposite end of the scale from vibrant New Zealand styles. Other grape varieties to look out for are Riesling, Muscadet, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc.
