Tasting notes

The best Blanc de Noirs, such as this one, are made only from Pinot Noir rather than from a mixture of black grapes. Made for us by Alexandre Bonnet, a small house that grows its own grapes near Les Riceys in the Aube, the most southerly part of Champagne. Ripe fruit flavours and a biscuity character.

Expert reviews

Waitrose Blanc de Noirs Brut NV with fish and chips.

"If you have white wine with fish and chips, why not have champagne with posh fish and chips? This delicious award-winner, made from Pinot Noir grapes is bubbly and fruity, perfect with the frothy tempura batter and the very thin chips in this recipe, which is a fun twist on the traditional dish. I am very happy with this playful match."
