Tasting Notes

"Very black cassis nose that is intense and concentrated. Good colour and huge ripe fruit with cassis, leather and savoury notes. Good complexity, intensity and concentration with fine silky tannins. Very long indeed." Xenia Irwin, Waitrose Partner & Wine Buyer

"This is a wine that brings out all the bright fruit of the vintage. It has classic black-currant flavors and crisp acidity. The tannins are a firm supporting act to this wine that will develop well over the medium term." Wine Enthusiast

Château Angludet

The wine estate of Château Angludet belongs to the Sichel family, wine merchants in Bordeaux for six generations. Situated in the Médoc on gravel deposits from the Garonne, the estate produces a Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel under the Margaux appellation, which is often put on a par with a Grand Cru Classé in terms of quality.

The Château Angludet estate covers a total of 81 hectares, 32 of which are planted with vines. Today, the vines, which are 25 years old on average and planted at a density of 6,666 vines per hectare, consist of a balanced mix of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot.
