Tasting notes

This is a rich and slightly creamy sparkling wine made by the highly acclaimed co-operative, Cave de Lugny. Made from Chardonnay grapes, it shows notes citrus and apple with a fresh and crisp finish. Serve well chilled as a delicious apéritif or with smoked salmon nibbles - perfect for parties!

Officially founded on the 30th of January, 1927, the Coopérative Vinicole de Lugny was the second co-operative created in the Mâconnais region, one year after that of Saint-Gengoux-de-Scissé. At its creation 116 winegrowers formed this co-operative, over 80 years later this has risen to more than 400.

Expert Review

No, it's not champagne but it's pretty similar, with its lemon meringue pie flavour, biscuity hint and dry, mouthwatering finish. Don't tell the guests; they'll never know.
