Winemaker Xavier Michelet looked to achieve depth of flavour and firm structure out of 2013 and the solid, broad tannins indicate his success in this. This elegant wine has a great depth of flavour with rich cassis and tobacco fruit and subtle smoky, oak notes.
Varietal mix: 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot.
Located on 7 hectares of land in the Pauillac appellation (the remaining 50 hectares of the estate are in Haut-Medoc), Château La Fleur Peyrabon produces fleshy, ample wines with delicate undertones.
Situated in the Haut Medoc Château La Fleur Peyrabon is an unusual château in that its 40 hectares of vineyards are divided between the appellations of Haut Medoc and Pauillac. It was bought by the Bordeaux merchant Patrick Bernard in 1998 and since then Peyrabon has benefited from serious investment to improve its quality. The recent results show how far the quality has risen under the guiding hand of winemaker Xavier Michelet. Grown on excellent gravelly terroir the wine is now of top Cru Bourgeois standard and exhibits a distinct touch of class.
