St Henri is rich and plush when young, gaining soft, earthy, mocha-like characters as it ages. It is matured in old, 1,460 litre vats that allow the wine to develop, imparting minimal, if any oak character.
Australia’s Barossa Valley is renowned for great Shiraz wines and Penfolds St Henri is no exception. First released in the 50s, this multi-regional blend is matured in large oak vats that allow the wine to develop with minimal, if any, oak character.
The result is a light, elegant, medium-bodied red that’s really food friendly – pair it with red meat, poultry and cheese. To serve at its best, carefully decant before pouring.
