Tasting notes
Argentina has made the grape variety Malbec its flagship red - with good reason as it is perfectly suited to the Argentinean terroir. Norton Reserva Malbec is an example of the heights this grape can achieve in the vineyards of Mendoza; often considered the heartland of Argentinean winemaking. The wine is characterized by its elegance and complexity. It's beautifully round and velvety with flavours of ripe black fruit, violets, spices and tobacco with a long and complex finish.
Bodega Norton's winemaker Jorge Riccitelli has an outstanding reputation both in Mendoza and further afield and is passionate about producing wines of the highest quality, pursuing the Norton philosophy 'Great wines are born in the vineyard'. Harvested by hand from Norton’s Finca La Colonia estate, some 1100m above sea level. The wine was aged for twelve months in French oak barrels with a further ten months in bottle before release.
