Having grown up in the restaurant trade, wine was no stranger to me and although it took me some time to appreciate its complexity, it has now become a way of life. I've since achieved a level 3 award in wines and spirits from WSET and perfected my wine knowledge to become a wine waiter, then head sommelier before joining the Waitrose Cellar team.

With over 20 years experience in the wine industry I have gained a real passion for delivering first class customer service and making the world of wine accessible. I take the view that wine shouldn't be complicated, it should be fun and best enjoyed with friends, family and great food.
Champagne Charles Lecouvey Brut NV
An exclusive blend of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir, which is matured for a minimum of 18 months prior to release. A fresh, elegant style with a lovely delicacy on the palate and great length of flavour. Perfect for any celebration!

I got into the wine trade by accident after seeing a vacancy to work in a wine-tasting shop which I applied for as it seemed like the most fun way to earn a living that I could imagine! Once I started to learn about wine I realised what a diverse and interesting subject it was; things are always changing and there are always new wines to taste and new areas to learn about.
Yalumba Organic Shiraz - This is full of ripe red berry and plum flavours with a hint of allspice. It has a lovely softness to it which makes this an ideal wine to drink with food.
Waitrose Reserve Shiraz, St Hallett - This wine has all the spice but with a lush chocolate finish. Both would be great with stews or a cottage pie
