"With Prosecco being the darling of the world of bubbles at the moment, can this exceptional value Cava possibly live up to its Italian rival? The simple answer is yes!

Made in the traditional method using Parellada, Xarel-lo and Macabeo grape varieties, this easy drinking cava is packed full of crisp apple flavour with just a hint of brioche.

I held a pre-wedding party for eight of my closest girlfriends; as a Waitrose Wine Specialist my wine choices are always scrutinised so no pressure! This cava went down a storm served with tapas...just perfect. "

"Great value white wine made with 100% unoaked Chardonnay grapes, this has lovely stone fruits flavours and an elegant and fresh finish.

Stunning for a picnic paired with a fresh roast chicken from Waitrose Deli counter and enjoyed under the shadows of a tree (La Umbra) on a hot day."

"Pinot Noir may be at home in Burgundy, but has gained a second residency in New Zealand. This is a very fruity, super-smooth wine with excellent length, that will match a range of savoury dishes but would be every bit as enjoyable on its own.

Fuller bodied than you might expect, it should reward you with delicious new flavours and characteristic of bottle-matured Pinot Noir, if carefully kept for a year or two. A truly splendid bottle of wine that I confidently recommend to my customers at Waitrose, Ipswich. "

"A monster of a wine! How does it pack such a punch from the cooler climate of Veneto?

Well, they pre-dry the grapes which gives the wine its wonderful power and structure. It displays warm dark fruits, ripe plum and cherry leading into complex, earthy flavours of leather, truffle and spice. On the long finish the silky tannins are complemented by a hint of violets.

This big wine would match well with a hearty, rich and flavoursome beef casserole."
