The taste of adventure
Mud House was founded by an intrepid British couple who fell in love with New Zealand while sailing the world. They decided to buy a plot of land to plant vines and used the local earth to build their unusual home – the mud-block house which became their brand. More than twenty years later and with vineyards across the South Island, Mud House remains as in touch with the land as their name suggests.
This wine is sourced solely from the Bendigo sub-region of Central Otago, the world’s highest and most southerly wine-growing area. The soil conditions make it a natural home for growing outstanding Pinot Noir and the huge daily temperature variation adds to the structure and concentration of the wine. Smooth and balanced with fragrant aromas of cherry and dried herbs complemented by scented oak and spice, it matches perfectly with roast duck or lamb dishes with rosemary and garlic.
