Indulgent expressions of the red grape of the moment
Originally from Bordeaux where it is still known as "Cot", Malbec has found fame halfway across the world in Argentina. But this trendsetting grape is now achieving greatness in many other winemaking hotspots, as you can discover here.
Alc vol:13.50% | Line no:719722 This wine has all the powerful, concentrated black fruit, open texture and complex earthy backbone that are characteristic of Malbec grapes grown in Cahors. Clos Triguedina is recognised as one of the finest of Cahors’ estates and winemaker Jean-Luc Baldès is renowned for his mastery of this variety. Delicious with richly sauced meat dishes.
Alc vol:13.50% | Line no:57122 A concentrated, deep violet, cherry-flavoured Malbec with remarkable complexity and length thanks to careful selection of grapes in the vineyard, and again in the winery. Flichman has superb sites around the city of Mendoza, getting tremendous quality into the bottle. Try this with braised lamb shanks.
Alc vol:13.50% | Line no:743949 This soft, easy-drinking Malbec has partial and subtle oak ageing, leaving the emphasis on the fruit rather than heavyweight complexity. The silky palate, with spice, damson and black cherry flavours, is lightly balanced with some chocolate tones on the finish. Enjoy with pasta or try with Oriental dishes.
Alc vol:13.50% | Line no:045811 A deep, opulent ruby-red wine with an aromatic nose and palate, showing intense red berry fruit flavours and a hint of spice. It has a sweet, long finish and, in comparison with an Argentinian Malbec, will taste softly plummier. This has the scale and intensity to work with big flavours, such as chilli con carne.
