Solear is considered by many as the definitive Manzanilla
Aged longer than most Manzanilla, Solear is made from 100% Palomino, from vines grown in the unique, chalk and lime rich 'albariza' soil of Barbadillo's 500 hectare Gibalbin and Santa Lucia vineyards in the Jerez Superior winemaking region in southern Spain.
It is aged in the magnificent ageing cellars, overlooking the Guadalquivir River in Sanlucar de Barrameida's 'Barrio Alto', one of the three sherry towns making up the 'Sherry Triangle'.
Beautifully clean, bright and intense, Barbadillo Solear Manzanilla is pale straw in colour with an appealing intensity and finesse to the nose.
Prolonged contact with the flor - the layer of yeast which grows on the surface of the wine and is responsible for Manzanilla's unique character - gives delicate aromas reminiscent of salty air and chamomile.
Extraordinarily dry on the palate, Solear has a smooth and harmonious finish and a persistent, pleasing flavour.
