The whisky's rich smokiness is born from the woodless peat found locally to the distillery on Orkney's Hobbister Moor, and its sweet fragrant spiciness comes from slowly maturing in sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks.
Hints of warm spicy fruit cake, dollops of vanilla custard, lemon and honey combine with this aromatic smokiness to make a whisky that's perfectly at home being drunk next to a fire, while sharing stories of old.
