Crisp, mineral Pouilly-Fumé with a light creaminess
From vineyards overlooking the upper Loire river, this wine is matured on the lees for five months prior to release to add a touch of creamy richness to the texture.
Pouilly Fumé is located in the east of the Loire Valley, across the river from Sancerre. As with Sancerre, Pouilly Fumé is Sauvignon Blanc territory. What sets this wine apart from its New World counterparts is the weight added by the ‘lees ageing’. There is also lovely fruit concentration and refreshing citrus acidity, as well as the classic flinty notes.
