From one of the region’s top-performing cooperatives, this white Burgundy is infinitely drinkable, with fresh citrus and peach flavours. Goes with cheese or rich fish dishes.
4 x Venturina Gavi, Italy, Alc vol: 11.5%
Pretend you’re in Piedmont with a zesty, well-balanced Gavi that also tastes of crisp green apples. Its depth is down to the use of grapes from carefully chosen vineyard sites. Basil pesto pasta is one of its favourite foods to pair with.
4 x d'Arenberg The Dry Dam Riesling, Australia, Alc vol: 10.4%
Named for a neighbour’s dam, which failed to hold water. Unlucky for them, but definitely lucky for the d’Arenberg vines. The scents are alluring – fresh lime, lemon sherbet and lavender – and the flavours sublime: citrus, apple and honey. Goes with spicy Asian food.
